I am guessing it's a faucet filter mesh?

It's used for nest and outworld ventilation. I couldn't find it in my local home improvement stores.

You are amazing :) Thank you so much!  I want to put this on the side of my THA so it frees up my current nest mate used for ventilation for water instead.

Follow up question: Is 100 micron what we use for ants? or is there a range that we can use?

Depends on the species you are trying to contain. For larger ants like Camponotus, Formica, Myrmecocystus etc. you can use mesh that is quite a bit larger. For smaller ants like Solenopsis and others, small mesh is needed. 100 micron is a safe bet for pretty much any species though.
