Do you keep it fairly dry or more on the humid side?

I add water to the water tower weekly, and the heat cable keeps things warm. Everything else is all to do with the nest from THA. All I know is I must be doing something right.

As for how the nest is setup, here's a photo.

Finally ordered a new nest today. As the colony seems like they were going to outgrow the current fallen fortress any day now. Plus my C. novaeboracensis colony needs a bigger home then their current test tube. This is the Labyrinth I grabbed from THA.

You say next season, this queen says she's not done with this season yet. She's still laying eggs.  ;)

Well, it's official! After about two days, we are all moved in, and they even moved all their seeds over. I disconnected the old fallen fortress and used an aspirator to suck up the 50 or so stragglers. They are still gathering their seeds from their foraging area and bringing them to the nest itself.

I'm hoping I won't have to move them until next year. May have to order an XL labyrinth or custom XXL labyrinth if they continue to grow at this rate.

Snapped a few photos last night of the colony. I estimate they have somewhere around 150 to 175ish workers. I'm looking forward to see how much growth we'll have over the next few months. I'm going to wait and see if this colony starts to slow for diapause, or if they just keep going through the winter. I've heard mixed information about pogonomyrmex occidentalis doing better/worse if you put them through diapause. So I'm going to let the colony decide.

they are expensive though i have like 20 queens and If sold them at the price THA does I would make several hundred dollars, you should find a cheaper seller, but if you can't you should definitely buy from THA(I'm not saying that THA isn't a good seller but they are expensive.)

Snapped some more photos last night. Colony still has eggs, larvae, and pupae. They don't seem to be slowing down at all. Also there's normally 25 - 50 workers in the outworld, depending on if I just fed them or not.
