Great colony! May I ask have they started to spin some silk?

Yes! Tho I did break the structures when I moved them but they are weaving a new wall in the tube! Once it's completely done I will post some pics.

YouTube: https://m.youtube.co...uKsahGliSH7EqOQ (It's pretty dead. Might upload again soon, don't expect my voice to sound the same though.)

Currently kept ant species, favorites have a star in front of their names (NOT in alphabetical order, also may be outdated sometimes): Camponotus irritans inferior, Ooceraea biroi, Pheidole parva, Nylanderia sp., Paraparatrechina tapinomoides, Platythyrea sp., Anochetus sp., Colobopsis sp. (cylindrica group), Crematogaster ferrarii, Polyrhachis (Myrma) cf. pruinosa, Polyrhachis (Cyrtomyrma) laevissima, Tapinoma sp. (formerly Zatapinoma)

Death count: Probably over a hundred individual queens and colonies by now. I cannot recall whatsoever.

Nice colony! They're growing so fast! I've always wanted to keep this species but I don't have any luck at finding some :( Even though I'm in the middle of their nuptial flight.

Actually season is almost over sadly... They fly from April to July. Only got 2 months more. Also they fly in the morning so look out for queens at around 7 am. Actually my neighbor found this queen while she was shedding. Talk about lucky

What!? I can't miss my chance this year to find them. Also, you ARE lucky cause you have a neighbor that will give you that queen, where I live, everyone just kills them whenever they see one. (I know, its horrible)

So sad... My neighbor doesn't kill em cuz he keeps inverts too like scorpions and leaf insects. He also has 2 young S.geminata colonies that he dug up.

Ikr, I've only seen two ant keepers in person before, and both of them live far away from me.

At least a small one based on the pictures. It is the larvae that are most important as their silk is what is used to bind the leaves together.

Yeah they do have enough. 15 workers. However the larva is what they lack so I hope the new batch of eggs hatches soon!

Put them in a tubs and tubes setup cuz they keep escaping and refusing to make a leaf nest. Working on escape-proofing it now

Maybe you should wait for the colony to get bigger before moving them into the Exo-terra.
