Next year Ill sell a ton of Temnothorax lol. I can get so many with incredible ease.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

It would be the same species as in my journal. They fly by the thousands for multiple days, at like 9 am, in massive swarms just above head level.

I live in a crowded neighborhood and the only ants that live with me are Pheidole , tetras, and a Formica species.

Currently: Considering moving to Australia
Reason: Myrmecia

lol same but i have only Prenolepis, Prenolepis, Prenolepis, Prenolepis, did I mention Prenolepis, and Monomorium (there used to be a huge colony in my yard. then they all disappeared, replaced by prenos. i only see very very few now).

that's literally all there is in the area around where i live lol

if i travel a bit, i can find other ants tho. just not queens. the ant gods have cursed me, I've only ever found preno queens :(
