my roommate got frogs recently and has been feeding them small crickets

they are advertised as mite-free and they do not have a problem with me using any left overs

should i be worried about any other pathogens or nasties?

i feed my ants wild insects atm, which is far from ideal since i have no idea what diseases they could be carrying

but i have heard that farmed insects can be not much better, since they are raised in cramped conditions

i could use the verdict of an experienced ant keeper on this one

Just dip them in boiling water for at least three seconds.

Three seconds is long enough to kill mites.

They may have been mite free when bred etc, but after shipping and being handled etc anything can happen, rather safe than sorry
