Camponotus novaeboracensis are not native to Nevada, so unfortunately not. I handle most of the permits here.

Most is an exaggeration, but it is true I should have glanced at the AntWiki map, I did not realize myrmecologists have not recorded them there yet.

Unknown, you would have to find out, as this is a really new discovery. I would guess anything over 3 could work, although more is obviously better.

This is actually tempting because these ants are super hard to find around me.

I made the wonderful decision to buy from Ants_Dakota again and as expected...

Everything went wonderful! They were extremely helpful and informative during the entire process as well as throwing in some extra goodies. All of the ants as well as any additional stuff came in excellent condition. They also still go out of their way to check on the conditions of my ants and answering any questions I have.

I ordered 1 Camponotus vicinus queen, 1 Camponotus novaeboracensis, 2 Solenopsis molesta (they threw in 3 extra ones), 4 Lasius Brevicornis (they also threw in additional one.) Test tubes and a heating mat. They also threw in an extremely awesome outworld free of charge.

Seriously, I haven't had any regrets about purchasing anything from them and they have changed my perspective entirely on buying local. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone who is entering the hobby or just looking to expand their collections. Even have inspired me to begin my own journals after diapause!

Also, if you guys find or sell a Pogonomyrex queen in the future, I call dibs.

Thank you so much for the kind review! There is a decent Pogonomyrmex population in Brookings here, so if I get lucky next year, you will be the first I contact!

We do! Most of the population is West River near the badlands, but interestingly we have some in Brookings too. Camponotus novaeboracensis is by far the fastest growing Camponotus I have owned. They can easily reach hundreds of workers by their second year if fed consistently.

I think there is a mistake in the original post; under "past colonies" is says that Lasius neoniger is available. Just wanted to point that out so you can fix it and people don't get confused.

Last chance to get colonies for the year! Camponotus vicinus and Camponotus novaeboracensis available for national shipping, all others for South Dakota natives.

You can view the original post here: https://www.formicul...stock/?p=162039

Secret deal: I have permits to send Camponotus herculeanus to Massachusetts and Virginia meant for some other buyers from a long time ago who have not responded, so if you want to get your hands on a rare US species and are from one of those states, PM me! Really fast growing colonies if you feed them!
