Did you even refrigerate the workers before the introduction? That generally helps tame down the workers.

I understand that you are a beginner, and that people make mistakes, but being a beginner doesn't really give you an excuse to mistreat ants.  Please make sure you are knowledgeable about a certain topic so you can do your best and limit deadly ant mistakes.

I know, but still I have researched for months and yet I never noticed that fact. and if I didn't get it done then I was afraid they would die because I found a dead nanitic that night curled up on a seed but right now they are doing amazing they have finally managed to crack open a seed and eat it without me helping.

Being a beginner also means asking questions when you need help. Remember that.

I think all you need to do is get a water bottle cap with a couple small drops of honey it it and put it in the outworld with them, also put a second test tube beside of theirs, if you need help for an outworld going to the store and looking at cheap plastic containers is good, small ones like 2 dollars for 3 of them work.

Soooo, today I did something that AntDrew would not approve of; captured a wild colony of crematogaster.   It is a small colony with about 50 workers and they are so amazing.

The Crematogaster colony is doing good, but I have no food for them other than twizzler's so do you know if they can eat those or gummy bears.

How did you collect them??  And I don't really approve either.  If you have TWIZZLER'S of all things, please please please let this colony go.  They will NOT do well on Twizzler's.  What formicarium do you have them in?  And did you get the queen?

i used to capture colonies, but i have resolved not to now. it is up to you about whether to do it or not. just try not to kill them. They will survive for a while without carbs, but try to get them honey or sugar water. i would not use any candies, as they are harder for the ants to eat.

Pleas do not capture a colony if you have no good foods to give them. Also, Crematogaster queens are flying in this time of year so why did you even collect a colony at this time?

Today I lifted up a rock and found a ant queen(without a colony), she is red and her gaster is a little bit orange and I am assuming she is a aphenogaster, and the crematogaster colony got honey earlier today.
