Camponotus fraglilis would be perfect. They are a desert camponotus species that are very fast growing. You also don't have to give them a special formicarium. I have mine in a tubs and tubes setup with hydrostone to hold the tubes.

You could go with an Ants Aus acrylic nest in that case, paired with an Ants Canada outworld.

Dude do you know how long shipping costs and time take because of COVID. It already takes long to ship overseas, I shipped a ytong starter during covid and it took over 2 months and shipping was 30$. Aus Ants does not seem like a option right now.

 

It depends how quickly they need it, but I agree that if they need it quickly it isn’t an option. Really, shipping anything via usps right now, especially California, is going to be very delayed.

Ants I have:

1 Formica fusca group- 0 workers

1 Tetramorium immigrans colony-20 workers

1 Dorymyrmex insanus- 1 queen, used to have workers

 

1 large P. occidentalis colony- around 50 workers, plenty of brood
