hello everyone, i am new to this whole thing. Located in reseda in the san fernando valley. I have understanding on how to start my first colony, but need directions. I have not been able to figure out where and when ants take their flights around my area. If anyone can help me, or give me guidance would be extremely appreciated

Look at the mating flight chart, and read the beginners guide. And welcome! Nuptial flights should be happening now and throughout the summer. If you are looking I can guarantee you will find a queen. They are pretty common if you know what you are doing. One tip is to look after it has just rained. There is a lot of Information on this forum!

RESEDA!-(Sorry, just a personal reference.) Not to far from me either, maybe I can help. :) So far in this area I have seen some Dorymyrmex insanus and bicolor fly, a dead Liometopum occidentale queen, and some Camponotus males. I guess there were some small Pogonomyrmex flights too because Alza saw them and has picture proof, but yeah. Not much action so far so you are just in time. ;)
