Help with Lasius Umbratus?

As Mercutia said, Lasius umbratus pupae will readily be accepted and when they eclose they will think the new queen is their queen.

The other Lasius species will have to be around, or the Lasius umbratus would not exist.  But their nests are often well hidden in lawns or under pieces of wood.

 

It wouldn't hurt to feed the queen a very small drop of sugar water on a tin foil plate.  Parasitic queens do not have large stores of fat and I have always seen them welcome sugary liquids.
