This is just a thread for riddles, as I am curious to see what ones other people know, and if you can solve my made up ones.  Feel free to post your own; made up or heard.

What do you not make, but can finish in a day, while others may take years?

What is the universal language? (This one is less riddle like, but it's really not too hard if you are happy. ;))

What do you have, that no one sees, no one hears, and no one one can imagine?  What is entirely your own?

Not made up ones:  What has one letter, yet three "e"s are used to describe it, and another riddle of it's own in a corner? (Note:  This is a common one, but I have changed the wording a bit.)

Read the Hobbit?  Well here you go: A chest without hinges, inside golden treasure is hid.  What is it?

Well, I hope you enjoyed, and I hope you can come up with some clever new riddles, and find the answers to my easy ones.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

What has organs but is not alive,

is as worthless as dirt but as precious as diamonds,

and is covered in ice yet warm as a desert?

That's my riddle for today.

It's from an ACT exam.

I don't even know the answer.

I know it's not a riddle, but...

Congrats if you actually figure it out...

It honestly scares me a little.

A recently deceased sled dog, of course.

Good guesses, and very logical, but not quite what I was thinking.

The answer I originally came up with was......

The Earth!

All of Earth's organisms, ecosystems, and natural cycles could be metaphorically compared to organs of a body; of course, the planet itself is not alive.

In the vast sea of the cosmos, Earth is small and insignificant. But at the same time, it's literally worth our lives. 'Dirt' can also metaphorically and very generally refer to the various rocks and minerals Earth is composed of, as well as soil.

At first I meant that the ice caps and temperate areas are covered with ice in winter and at the same time molten rock is swirling beneath, but it can also refer to the literal deserts the planet has.

Two guys walked into a bar. They were subsequently sent to the hospital, but not for drunkenness/alcohol related incidents. For what were they sent to the hospital?

They walked into an actual bar, as in a pole made of steel.

The bar was hostile. Or they fought.

What has a huge pit that nothing can fall into, and is soft and impenetrable?

EDIT: And some people scrape corn all over it.

That's my riddle for today.
It's from an ACT exam.
I don't even know the answer.
I know it's not a riddle, but...
Congrats if you actually figure it out...
It honestly scares me a little.

I believe the answer is h (2)

You need to know that cos^2 x + sin^2 x = 1

It becomes
= √(sin^2 x)/(sin x) + √(cos^2 x)/(cos x)
= sin x/sin x + cos x/cos x
= 1 + 1
= 2

I looked up the answer on the site I got the problem from...

You were right!  (y)

Correct! They were treated for minor concussions.

This moves but never stops,

is constant yet ever changing,

never breaks but always heals.

Time?

And on mine, no, that is not the answer.  It is not related to ants.

Droughted moss, hibernated ants, wilted plants.

Or any small animal that makes a cyst to survive in extreme conditions.
