Last week I bought a Novomessor Cockorelli from DSPdrew and they are in a small starter formicarium with about 20 medium sized larvae and 30 eggs. The best part about these guys is that they eat insects a LOT. Its so col to watch them bring the chopped cricket back to the nest. These guys are much bigger than i thought they were going to be. For me that is good.

Edit: 8 workers one eclosed today.

They look fast, I believe I've seen them in action somewhere. On a video I mean. But they look fun.

These guys are up to 9 workers, about 17 larvae, 8 being large, a enormous batch of eggs, and 2 pupae. I gave them the option to dig into an anthouse.es wall kit mini by attaching vinyl tubing that came with the kit to drew's small starter formicarium. Then one brave worker went into the dirt area, told the others of her discovery and then 4-5 workers started digging! Now they are at the bottom and have stretched all the way across the botton. here is a photo:

Wow these guys have really taken off! They are at about 40 workers, 20 pupae, at least 50 eggs, and about 30 larva. They are doing great!

These guys have completely dug out of the anthouse nest so I put them in two AntShack EarthCubes. And an outworld. I need to start planning for when this generation becomes workers because there will be so many ants! I might have to buy a terrarium and decorate it like my Pogonomyrmex Californicus. But I will see how things go.

This colony is at around 60-80 workers and hundreds of brood. These ants have completely dug out the AntShack earthcubes and now I have no Idea what to do because they are growing so fast. I have had 2 more earthcubes on their way for 2 months. They are supposed to come in 1 month. These guys have always been lousy on their order time. I say that this colony is growing to fast like it is a bad thing but it is obviously a very good thing. I think I might just them a 5.5 gallon terrarium because at the rate they are growing, they will NEED a terrarium in about 3 months... That is if my EarthCubes come in the mail. It it doesn't come for the next couple weeks, I'm just going to get them a terrarium.

Antshack might be the worst formicarium brand out there. Some workers have been escaping from the bottom of the Earthcubes. Now I have to put olive oil around their whole setup. Luckily my grandpa out of nowhere is getting me a tarheelants casita! I will be putting this colony in there. It should arrive sometime this week.

This colony is at 100 workers strong. Outgrowing even the casita with speed. I'm just going to put these guys in a 5.5 gallon terrarium when i get the chance. Photo coming soon.

Alright. This colony has 80 ish workers and is finally in a 5.5 gallon terrarium that i designed with dirt and plants from palm desert. These ants are the fastest diggers I've ever seen. They have already excavated their nest after only 24 hours..
