I am looking for the place where one would start a petition to exempt a species from the list of plant pests. Any information is appreciated. I'm looking to exempt Trachymyrmex septontrialis.

I'd like to see some Ponerinae subfamily. We have some very interesting species. Also primitive ants are utterly fascinating!

What are "primitive ants"?

They tend to behave more like wasps, with the workers being independent foragers. Workers can be large, and colonies can have gamergates. And yes, the subfamily Ponerinae does have a few. Although what I'd like to see is Myrmecocystus. They'd do just about as much or less harm to the environment on their own as Lasius. (i.e. none)

"Primitive ants"... They're just as advanced as most ants. They just have a steady lifestyle and see no need to improve.

And FYI, ponerinae are some of the most "advanced " ants out there. They just have a lot of other members who see no need to change.

I think he means ants like Paraponera, which are primitive.

Paraponera are not primitive. they branched off lower down on the evolutionary tree, but that just means their ancestors are primitive, same as any ant.
