Hi, I'm new to the forums but not the hobby. I started keeping ants in 2006 and was an active member of the yuku community. I had stopped keeping ants when I began college but I intend to start keeping them again this Spring. My hobbies also include macrophotography. Here is a small selection of pictures I've taken over the years.

This is my Avatar, a Phidippus audax. A common species of jumping spider

Another unidentified jumping spider. It's hanging from the ceiling.

Another spider, Leucauge venusta, the orchard orb weaver.

This is my favorite local species: Polyergus lucidus. I know of 2 nest sites within walking distance from my home.

This is the grove snail, Capaea nemoralis. It was introduced to New England intentionally in the 1800s. Apparently someone wanted them in their garden.

A mosquito.

A bumble bee species visiting a rododendron. I'm unsure of the species, it may be Bombus impatiens.
Bombus sp.

A Chinese mantis, Tenodera sinensis. This is another species intentionally introduced to the US.

Finally a metallic green fly. I honestly don't know what it is.

Welcome.

Look forward to seeing you find a queen and get a colony going again.  :D
