Another parasitic formica, this time caught on 6/6/19 in the afternoon. I got her by a lake surrounded by woods. She's 10-11mm long, with black markings on top of mesosoma.0a5385d59b5b11862798724bd48725d8.jpgdfa5bdd5df040df2da053e5a8f761209.jpgb667cf3f4098586200084c10a1d0b066.jpg

Welcome to the forum, Madbiologist.

This is a Formica integra queen. You were right, she is indeed parasitic. I have compiled a guide on raising parasitic Formica here; I suggest you check it out as it would give you some more detailed information on the rearing of these guys.

Good luck!

Ok, thanks for the ID. I've been keeping ants for a year, but never ran into anything as tough as these to ID before.
