Any Camponotus flights still to happen in the Santa Monica Mountains? There is a heat spike and it is going to hit 80 degrees today, and I was going to look around some of the trails early tomorrow morning.

Probably not if they aren't over 6000 feet or so.

Would I still have luck if I looked in bark and logs?

There were camponotus ca02 and vicinus flying along with a few other unidentified Camponotus near Cleveland national forest CA. I was surprised to find them this late, it was about 85 degrees both days. They were out the most at 8:45 pm. I also spotted some males.

Just barely reaching the 90*s here in Vegas this upcoming week. First "hot" rain in today vs. rainy days that were on 70*F days and below.

Wondering if the Pogonomyrmex reds will be flying early or late this year..

Probably not. Pogonomyrmex is a summer flyer.
