That sound like it would be a really fun ant to keep honestly

There are a few factors in naming ants we must look at first which are: physical characteristics, location, and sometimes behavior (i.e. Dorymyrmex insanus). The one who discovers the insect may also choose to put their name as a species.
I would probably just use a cool Latin adjective for my ant.
Imaginary:
S. molestissimus - A huge version of S. molesta; an ant more similar to F. francoeuri than molesta, but still with it's cool coloration and brood stealing tendencies. Polygamy would be possible with this species.

My discovered fantasty species I would name would be a monotypic ant that synthetizes metallics in its exoskeleton, the name? Midas midas Also just as a little aside before it was properly placed in its on genus and given a species name it was known as Species Au.

Because common names should be even more confusing.

If I could discover a new ant species of my choice, I would have it be Dorylus minutus. Colonies would have many more members than other Dorylus species, but many of the workers would be a lot smaller. The super majors would be a normal 8 mm, but the majors would be about 3.5 mm and the workers would be slightly over half that size. This species would be polygynous and very territorial, even compared to other Dorylus species.
