This is what happens when you give Pogonomyrmex liquid feeders. They hate liquids anywhere near their nest, and will continue to try to bury it until all of the liquid is gone. This is why I don't normally give Pogonomyrmex liquid feeders. They tend to like dried up food more, and this is also the same in the wild.

 

This is one of ByFormica's liquid feeders that I welded to a platform to see how it would help deal with this problem. As you can see, it didn't help.
