I am new to ant keeping and this forum. Here is the first queen I ever caught, 9/22, outside my office in Elko, NV. She (it?) was walking on concrete and asphalt, and the general vegetation of the area includes sagebrush, russian olive, and many other riparian shrub species found along the Humboldt river. She is a darker red color with lighter stripes on her gaster, and fine white hairs that i only noticed because of the flash on my camera. Wing scars where semi apparent under my vegetation dissection microscope, but it is old so who knows. I posted her to reddit when i captured her to try to get help IDing her, and I think she is either a crematogaster or Solenopsis molesta. I am hoping for crematogaster as the solenopsis molesta is likely a social parasite species. Anyways, the imgur album is below and thanks for any help in advance!
