So I recently acquired a Brachymyrmex P. M. queen from a friend here in my town and she has a clutch of about 50 eggs and there is one drone. They're in a test tube with water at one end and cotton at the other. I keep them in a drawer with a beanie draped over the tube. I've been researching and reading up on the care of these tiny babes and have seen that they require 78* F for the cool side and 82* F for the warm side, along with a humidity level of 40-50%. I bought a heating cable for my other ant colonies and thought maybe the Brachy might like some warmth.
1. Should I drape some cable next to her test tube?
2. Should I feed her and the drone?
3. Does she require humidity at such an early stage?
4. Leave them alone until they reach a more substantial size?
P.S. I tried uploading pictures, but I get an error stating I am not allowed to upload this type of file. It's just a macro photo in jpeg format, but oh well.
Thank you in advance for all replies =)
