Hell no. My fungus is too fragile right now as it is.

I expected smaller, they are a lot smaller than say, Atta. They are a little larger than a Pogonomyrmex subnitidus queen I think?

Half a BB'? I do not know. Maybe a bit smaller than her gaster.

Um, haha funny, in the last nine hours, I have replied to this thread EIGHT times! That's an update enough, also including the fact that they have been being updated the last four days in a row. 370 out of your ~400 posts on Formiculture are useless posts like that.

Well, right now the fungus does not look 100% healthy, but she continues to tend to it. I have fixed the issue why it may not be as healthy as can be.

With recent deaths I only have two. But the replacement queen seems to have taken the fungus. :) Fingers crossed!

And she has stuck it right onto the wet cotton! PERFECT!!! :D

This species is possible the hardest to keep in California. I have had six queens, this species is VERY fond of just giving up and dying. As much as I know, once the queen gets workers, it is easy after that, but until then, the success rate is really, really bad.
