how long would you consider brief ? two minutes ?

5-10 min. no more than 10, or your ants will have a hard time recovering.

All my colonies are dead.

once you have posted pix in the gallery, and you now have more can you create another gallery?

say you want to separate by species or collection dates. Or do we continue to use the gallery that we already have

I would say feeding an ant seems to be the easiest way to keep an ant still long enough to take a photo. Most photos I have taken was when they were feeding or had just fed.
