If you want to collect brood or any established colonies ( I would do that as my last option).

Considering the main nuptial flight season is starting soon, I suppose I can add some things here.

Flip under stones and moss after a rainy day, queens will try to get a cheap hiding place under those. Tiles may host Tetramorium and Solenopsis especially. Lasius will wander along the pavement, just keep an eye out. Camponotus will be around parks, and backlighting will also earn you some.
Semi-Claustrals will be foraging for a while, just look for them. Largest red ones are Pogonomyrmex, others are ponerine ants. Medium sized red ones in forests are either Polyergus or Formica. Formica is usually claustral, but the Polyergus is a social parasite. A small amount of “Formica colonies” will have Polyergus alates due to being taken over.
