Update July 1, 2020

I think they've doubled in size in the past 10 days or so, but they still have just as big of a brood pile. I managed to catch a bunch of these water boatmen for them, and they dragged them all into the nest. They have a huge protein stockpile now, but for some reason, they still keep trying to forage for food. I'm not sure how much I should feed them .

Here's a video of them hunting fruit flies. It's not the best quality, but watch the major on the right ;o

The way she grabs onto that fruit fly... This was something my other colonies can not compare to

I'm trading this colony with cocdeshijie for 2 C. vicinus and some Monomorium ergatogyna, so I'm posting a video here as a farewell. They have 14 workers and 5 pupae, with some other brood as well.

Personally I would keep them even for a great deal like that. Also, if your trading them (which you are) I would mark the journal as discontinued since the colony is no longer here to document.
My Ants:
(x1) Campontous semitstaceus ~20 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Camponotus vicinus ~10 workers, 1 Queen (all black variety)
(x1) Tetramorium immigrans ~100 workers, 1 Queen
(x1) Myrmercocystus mexicanus -1 Queen
(x2) Mymercocystus mimcus -1 Queen
(x1) Mymercocystus testaceus ~45 workers, 1 Queen

Oh that's just one of my colonies. I have 8 more. The large one in my other updates is my personal colony.

7-27 Big Colony Update

They have... many workers. There are too many to count, but I got some nice pics!!!

I've been feeding them roaches and bloodworms cycling every other day. I'm also giving them perky pet red hummingbird nectar!

I've also recently been trying to get them to drink out of a sugar test tube instead of refilling my 2 micro liquid feeders twice a week. However, it seems like the cotton isn't wicking up the sugar water very well. It dries up after they finish drinking it, and I have to physically push the cotton further into the liquid to get it to soak out. Do u guys have any suggestions? I'm also thinking of trying a sponge in place of the cotton, but I have a feeling it'll have similar results.

Please let me know what kind of long term feeding u guys use!

Do you like your AC nest? I have 2 fraggle queens and I was wondering how they'd do in an AC nest.

I wouldn't really recommend AC nests up front. If you have enough money, investing in setups like TarheelAnts formicaria might be better. I would also make sure u have at least 150 workers before putting them into the AC nest. For me, it's working pretty well though.

Was it a Camponotus hybrid? And yeah, even if u already have the nest, don't put them in until they reach a good size.

Yeah. Was considering selling it for a Tarheel nest so I was wondering how your ants were doing in it.

Who would buy a AC nest on here lol, you would probably have to go elsewhere like GAN or something.

They're doing really well, since fraggles do well in anything.

Yay I'm great at updates

Here's a video of them. I put them through a diapause for a bit, and just recently took them out and started feeding. I've given them a tank that's like 2x my body volume and I'm gonna get them in "proper" nests soon. I'm planning on carving out a few firebrick nests for them to put up against the side of the tank. If anyone has nest design suggestions let me know!
