So this is my first year anting and becoming an ant keeper. I've heard of a few good companies (like AntsCanada, Tarheel Ants, and AntsAus) for nests and Outworld. Any other companies that are good and reliable?

I'm in North America, if that helps.

byFormica does not currently offer any formicaries or foraging areas right now, but thank you for the mention.

There are plenty of independent dealers for quality products, particularly in Europe.  Not all overseas sellers ship to the US, so sometimes it's necessary to use a freight forwarder.

For most species, you can go a long way with a test tube, cotton ball, plastic tub, and some Fluon to prevent escapes.  Most of my colonies are kept this way.

byFormica® is the manufacturer of the iconic nectar feeders and Sunburst Ant Nectar.
byFormica ant products always deliver consistent performance, convenience,
and reliability, making them among the most beloved ant foods and kit enjoyed by
ant keeping enthusiasts worldwide. For more information, visit www.byFormica.com.

If you have the time,I would strongly advise building your own formicarium. With a bit of practice, you can make beatifull and functional formicaria, for a fraction of the cost. For me,building a nest is 50% of the fun!
