5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture - Black and red.  Nice whitish band around it's gastor.
6. Distinguishing characteristics - Bent antenna and decent sized mandibles 
7. Anything else distinctive - Not that I have observed
8. Nest description - N/A

9. Nuptial flight time and date - N/A

Looks like a Camponotus worker. Probably C. chromaiodes if it's red, although from the pictures it looks more like a caramel color. If that's the case, it may be C. chromaiodes or C. pennsylvanicus. I've heard people describe C. pennsylvanicus as occasionally having brown instead of black legs.
