If you ain't got a dream, you ain't got nothing.
I believe Lasius umbratus primarily targets Lasius alienus, and I know of a few people who have had success with introducing them to that species.

What about tetramorium,crematogaster,tapinoma sessile,or pheidole?
Yeah it has to be in the same genus, and preferably Lasius alienus or neoniger.

I have some L. Neoniger workers. Shame we don't live near each other.
Species I keep:
1 Lasius cf. Neoniger 30 workers
1 Camponotus sp. 15 workers
20 Tetramorium SpE 30 workers
1 T. Sessile 200 workers

P. Imparis!? Arghhhhh......Feds and their laws...... I would trade you 100 L. Neoniger for that... and throw in a 50 worker T. Sessile colony I caught today!

Listen AntTeen.... if we could trade something for something, I will trade. Not queen ants, as it is illegal, but workers and equipment.

Lasius umbratus usually founds in other Lasius s str as L niger, neoniger, or sth else. Maybe L umbratus pupae could work too.

if you find any mistakes, it's my autocorrection. it doesn't speak english.
Yes, Lasius umbratus pupae will work perfectly for founding your parasitic colony. I would not recommend using workers as they have a tendency to fight back whereas pupae do not. If you can grab a good 5-10 pupae (or more) of Lasius alienus, Lasius neoniger, or Lasius umbratus, I'd say you're in good shape to found a colony.
