I’m new to ant keeping. I just got my first queen with some workers about 2 weeks ago. Camponotus fragilis, and they are really cool looking. I’m really enjoying it so far.
Lived in Southern California my whole life. Always liked nature and animals. I have been interested in ants since I was a kid. Always found them fascinating. I started watching the AntsCanada channel on YouTube several months ago, and then learned it’s s possible to capture queen ants locally, and that you can buy them from local farmers. That’s how I got sucked in.
Other then my new ant colony, I have 2 fish tanks. A heavily planted 30 gallon acrylic with a stupid tall design that makes it hard to clean, and a ten gallon for my betta. My betta’s name is Bloo (who lives with some shrimp and a snail), and he is blue with white border around his fins, and red pelvic fins. The larger tank houses my dwarf pleco, some neon tetras, red cherry shrimp, and a few guppies. I’ve kept fish on and off since my teens. I have kept saltwater too. Can’t have a bigger tank at the moment unfortunately.
I also like science fiction, and am currently going to university for communication studies.
That’s me. Hello everyone!
