So I accidentally killed one of my Lasius flavus queens she still has workers and brood. The nest is young (all of my nests are) so is it a good idea to brood boost another colony at this stage or will they mess up the queens flow. I also have another queen that does not want to lay eggs (maybe she can't) so I could add the brood to that queen to see what effect it has. Also is there anything I can do with the poor workers? It feels unfair that they now have no purpose.

Thanks

if you want to try introducing the workers first youd need to put both colonies in the fridge to chill, this will make them less aggressive towards each other. then slowly introduce the workers to the colony 1 at a time. as for the brood you should be able to just put the brood into the colony and they should be fine?

Colonies:

Founding:

Camponotus cf. Modoc

Camponotus cf. Herculeanus

Dream Ants:

Stenamma Diecki

Solenopsis Molesta

Manica Invidia

Camponotus Herculeanus

Lasius Latipes

Dorymyrmex Pyramicus

Tapinoma Sessile

If you can get a parasitic queen, she could possibly infiltrate it fairly successfully.

Otherwise, the larvae and pupae are brood-boostable. As for the workers, they probably cannot be introduced.
