Mites?

Hello. A while ago I was looking at my Formica sp. through my camera and I noticed that there were some odd looking things on them. I put a lemon in there in case that they were mites, but they ended up being buried. Are these mites, and if so, how can I get rid of them.

Looks like mites to me. Hard to tell if they're parasitic or not. Try to see if they are biting the ants between the segments of their exoskeleton.

It looks to me like they are just sitting on the exoskeleton, not really near the gaps
