Here are two no nonsense documentaries focusing mainly on one species of Army Ant. Thanks to WeatherAnt for bringing them to my attention.

This one focuses mostly on the ants and their life cycle.

This one spends more time talking about the diversity of wildlife, birds, butterflies, beetles, and swarms of mites that have evolved to live within their colonies.

They're both awesome, thanks WA!

The parasitic fly just looks ridiculous. It's like she's doing a little break dance while laying her eggs.

Yay, I love documentaries! Particularly ones about ants. I don't have time to watch right now, as I'm supposed to be working on a school paper due tomorrow that I haven't started yet. I'll watch later though. Thanks!

Good find on the doc's! It's funny since I am also currently reading Adventures Among Ants (Moffett, Mark.) which delves a lot into the raiding behavior of army/marauder ants. Interesting stuff! :)
