I made soil type formicarium today. I almost have used crystal formicarium or food container, but I want to have more natural and nice.

I planned to make vivarium at first and I searched a lot of data. But the data is only for leptile or tarantula. :(

Also, I noticed that it is hard to observe my ants if I make my formicarium like typical vivarium and changed my plan.

I bought two acrylic boxes and some gravels  and got some soil from outside.

I spread gravels in a acrylic box which is bigger and put smaller box in bigger one.

I set fiber glass net on the gravels and filled a gap between two boxes with soil.

And I decorated surface with moss. (I'll plant clovers in spring.)

I think it isn't complete vivarium, but I'm content with my formicarium.

I hope to make better formicarium next time.

I name my formicarium 'Antopia(Ant+Utopia) 1', as I want my formicarium to be ant's utopia.

* The plastic food container in the formicarium is Polyrhachis's old home.

I put it for Polyrhachis's move.
