Hi, I found these queens wandering on dirt trails. I'm not sure what kind a queen they're. One of it is red and have black gaster. The other one is all black, but they look the same. Thanks!

 

 

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Orange County (Peters Canyon Regional Park), South California
2. Date of collection: Aug 02, 2017 
3. Habitat of collection: dry long dead grass/shrub. Dry condition 
4. Length (from head to gaster): around 8mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Red/Amber and Black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: N/A
7. Distinguishing behavior: N/A
8. Nest description: dry desert type dirt
