Ants going over baby powder barrier! (urgent)

Please guys i need your help quick my temnothorax are going over my barrier i don't know what's wrong whit it maybe its too dense and the ants are too small?? Pls i don't know what to do.

My Camponotus and Solenopsis can't go over my powder barrier that I use. Size shouldn't be an issue as even the tiniest nanitics fall off. Either your ants are escape artists, you have a hole in your barrier somewhere, or the alcohol to powder ratio is not optimal.

Another thing, Fluon (liquid Teflon, PTFE, Insect-a-Slip) is by far the best barrier you can use so I would advise getting some of that.

Temnothorax are about the size of the head of your tiniest Solenopsis invicta minor. They are really really small.

I'd recommend a frame for your outworld (seal on top of the outword with silicon glue) and a barrier applied upside down. Some very small ants can actually cross Fluon and Baby powder on vertical surfaces.

Tetramorium will not be getting very far with fluon, let alone vegetable oil.

My Solenapsis Molesta are also VERY tiny and they can cross baby powder as well. I have really good results with Vaseline and tiny ants.. I do a stripe of vaseline and a stripe of baby powder above that and have no escapes.. Insectislip works that much better? i might have to pick some up...

*Violating my own no more post statement...*

 

Try applying the powder dry with a Q-Tip. if you apply it wet it gets compressed and won't crumble that easy. Especially smaller (lighter) ants can easily walk over talcum powder which was applied wet.
