Location: Santa Rosa, Ca

Date: 5/1/17
Habitat: Forrest area along lake.
Length:6mm
Coloration: Fairly bright red, seems to be slight striping on end of gaster
Distinguishing markings: See pic, fairly long ant
Nest:  Seemed to be nested in a manzanita tree, or at least under it

Pseudomyrmex worker, I believe. Nice find!
