ID Request Cleveland National Forest San Diego County, CA

This is a queen from Cleveland National Forest in CA. It has a yellow abdomen, dark black/red thorax and head.

Sorry, I tried to get a better but the focus on my phone is pretty bad and is not working well. I'll have to take it out of the tube and take a picture or something to get a better focus.

Nice! Another one of those funny-colored Myrmecocystus queens. I'll bet it's M. mimicus. Can't believe how great this season has been already. It must be all the rain we've gotten. Up until now, all four years I've been into this ant stuff, we've been getting almost no rain.

Nice! Another one of those funny-colored Myrmecocystus queens. I'll bet it's M. mimicus. Can't believe how great this season has been already. It must be all the rain we've gotten. Up until now, all four years I've been into this ant stuff, we've been getting almost no rain.

Yes, I agree that it is Myrmecocystus mimicus, looking at his other posts, it seems to be a weird color morph, just like your purples ones a while ago.
