1. Location of collection: 
Deer Island Marin county, California

2. Date of collection: 
3/11/2017

3. Habitat of collection:
 on a downed log just off the trail 

4. Length (from head to gaster):
.4cm 

5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: 
black head with a black gastur (small white marks on gastur) , reddish brown thorax
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 
Small white marks on the gastur

7. Distinguishing behavior:
Only species collected to actively tug at the cotton 

8. Nest description: 
Possibly the log we got them off of everything in the surrounding area is very lush this time of year
