I was just wondering, which ant barrier is the least noticeable? I've only ever used olive oil, and it just looks messy after application. I've never used fluon or talcum powder, but from what I've seen, they leave unsightly residues.

Moving to a slightly separate topic, can anyone take a stab at what percent of ant species can walk upside-down on glass that has recently been applied with olive oil? Is ot possible to apply too much olive oil? it seems to clump after every application, but maybe that's normal?

Fluon doesn't show very much if you dilute it with water and paint it on thin.

If you buy Fluon from Amazon.com (or overseas buyers from Amazon.co.uk), you can return it if you don't like it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Every antkeeper should at least give Fluon a try once.

The messiness of the appearance will depend on the care taken during application. Fluon dries to a perfectly dry film, whereas olive oil will always remain a messy liquid.
