I emailed Dr. Trager (who works at Shaw Nature Reserve not far from St Louis) and he said that P. Imparis should start flying around here once it gets over 70 degrees and looking at the weather it'll be 69 degrees on both Friday (the 17th) and Saturday (the 18th) and then 73 on Sunday (the 19th) and 71 on Monday (the 20th) with the warmth continuing through Thursday at least in the mid 60's. Judging by what I have read and been told I would bet the farm on nuptial flights this weekend. Get your gear ready! And if any of you want to meet up somewhere to search for queens let me know and maybe we can get a group together on Sunday or Monday!

I wonder why they flew April 22. It was only 43 out.

Well that data is technically queen sightings. It may have flown earlier that day.

You're in Jersey, correct? There should be Prenolepis Imparis this weekend.

Anthony....There has to be a period of warm weather to trigger a flight. Just because one day is warm won't meet it will pop.
