I believe this queen is in the Camponotus group

 

 

1. Location of collection: Ghana, Accra
2. Date of collection: Feb 14 2017, around 5 pm.
3. Habitat of collection: Suburban sidewalk.
4. Length: About 1cm
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: Mostly black,
6. Distinguishing characteristics: 1 peitole node, abdomen has small ginger-ish hairs.
7. Nest description: Unknown

She is Camponotus, and a smaller genus for sure. The gaster reminds me of Camponotus nearcticus.

Looks like a myrmentoma subgenus Camponotus species

 I would definitely say Camponotus. Maybe Camponotus pennsylvanicus? Do those even live there?

Camponotus pennsylvanicus ​   are not native in habitats in Africa. They are strictly located in North America.
