Species I have kept or are keeping
-Nylanderia sp?
-Pheidole sp
-Pachycondyla Castanea (I didn't catch the queen sadly)
-Monomorium Antarcticum
-Iridomyrmex sp
-Ochetellus Glaber
-Amblyopone Australis
I'm not very familiar with the ants of New Zealand but I am curious to know why you think it is Nylanderia. Why not Paratrechina longicornis? From the photos it's not too apparent to me though I do see two or three species of Nylanderia from your area with that color pattern, the dark body, lighter legs and mandibles. What I don't see in the photos though are thick erect hairs (which may simply not be visible in the photo but perhaps you could check with better magnification).

I am wary when the antennae and legs are not so long that I can see Paratrechina longicornis without a doubt. True, these pictures are closer, but poorly lit and lacking in detail. A higher f-number in brighter light will probably help. The camera is computing exposure times based on the white background, instead of the ant.
If you've enjoyed using my expertise and identifications, please do not create undue ecological risk by releasing your ants. The environment which we keep our pet insects is alien and oftentimes unsanitary, so ensure that wild populations stay safe by giving your ants the best care you can manage for the rest of their lives, as we must do with any other pet.
Exotic ants are for those who think that vibrant diversity is something you need to pay money to see. It is illegal to transport live ants across state lines.

Black lives still matter.
Well Paratrechina longiconis have really big eyes in comparison to the head, which are certainly much bigger than any of the Nylanderia it could be. Also in the other thread there was talk about macro lenses. If you have a simple point and shoot camera you might be able to get a Raynox snap on lens. They also make a number of lenses for your phone which tend to run pretty cheap.
