I've been recently just now got into Formiculture.com so I'm pretty new but I adore ants so much I think they are just so awsome to have a mature colony going and such. My goal is to move to a more exotic area and collect as much different species as possible. Right now I have a Formica fusca and Campontus vagus. I use to have Tetramorium sp. E and Seviformica spp. in which they either escaped or died so that kinda sucks.

Are we supposed to use proper sentences here?

Only thing anyone is supposed to do is follow the rules, and there's no rule mandating that. It does make your posts look a lot nicer and easier to read though. It's all up to you. Your writing looks pretty nice anyway.

LOL. I never really frequented the Yuku forums but I'm aware of Antdude and his grammar nazi ways. Are most people here because they can't stand antdude? Cause that's funny as hell.  :sarcastic:

Yes, it is quite annoying... Although that forum is nice because of how much people use it, it is kind of funny that the forums own owner doesn't have any journals or anything, just posts corrections for the people new to the forum...

Yeah, it's a really nice forum as far as content and members go (as long as they hang around of course). The software is not so great though, and of course the "owner" really ruins it. Personally, like antdude, I would love a forum free from misspelled words and bad grammar myself, but what he does there is actually much worse. I don't think many people including his own moderators would disagree with me.

I frequent that place as a great source of information. Most of the people seem really nice too. I just never post there. I tried that once, ended up raging and disgracing myself. Drew should totally poach all the members and bring them here where the ocasional spelling mishap is not the main focus of any thread.

You misspelled occasional. Sorry I couldn't resist haha.

...here where the ocasional spelling mishap is not the main focus of any thread.

So true though.

Upholding grammar guidelines does keep the integrity of communication of any one thread at a high level, but yeah, he's a real stickler even if you just missed some punctuation  effectively derailing a persons thread.

I can see why spelling is important- there aren't enough forums out there for each language, so proper translation is a must, but all the dang punctuation and stuff...

I believe that spelling is important too. But mistakes happen, as long as we know what the person meant, we should just move on. However. . . Spelin lyk dis iz neva akceptibl. U feelin me mah homiez? Dis iz be an a front 2 ppl speek 4 no uva reeson dan 2 show dat I r wiked kool. (I am so sorry for that. But I think I made my point)
