HEY PEOPLE, i was just out exploring our flooded yard. When i noticed their was balls of floating ant colonies everywhere! I found the biggest ant colony of myrmica rubra and and scooped them in a container, i managed to get all queens, most workers and larvae and emptied out all the water! There is thousand crammed in this little jar... what should i do?

i couldn't open it and feed them without ants going everywhere.!

Put them into the fridge and get a formicarium ready for them. The fridge will not kill them, but it should make them sleepy enough that you can open the jar and dump them into the formicarium/foraging area. Obviously if you can't find a big enough formicarium [not something you want to hear] then don't keep them.... I'm sure they would be fine, since most ants make "moats" when they get flooded out of their nests.
