On the shore by the railroad tracks there are a few massive sandstone blocks that were dropped by a derailed train a long time ago. I think today I'm going to try to break off some chunks to make formicariums out of.

Does anyone have any experience working with sandstone?

I haven't used it for formicariums but I have worked with you would not have to worry about water Becuase if you water it the water moves through it

sandstone should be easy to work with, the only down side is that it is usually very brittle. The sandstone I've come in contact with you could carve with your finger.
