Well, the mating season for P. badius has begun. I saw colonies throwing their male alates out this afternoon and I found a wandering, wingless queen shortly after.
I've been debating weather or not to raise P. badius this season since they are kinda fragile and take more time to take care of (mainly because of cleaning the substrate out of their tubes and putting in fresh stuff). I was going to wait for Camponotus to flight as they have less picky and finicky behavior. But as soon as I saw this queen wandering around I had to grab her. Ha ha ha.
