So, every morning I have the routine of waking up and checking on my ants, but this morning my Camponotus noverboracensis  has all her cocoons and larvae on the bottom of the testtube, and all her eggs straight above them glued to the top. She's giving the cocoon and larvae the most attention though.

I believe I once read somewhere that ants prefer to keep the eggs/larva at a different humidity level than that of the pupae.

I had this same issue. Then i realized that the tube rolled, leaving the eggs at the top and all non-sticky brood was at the bottom.
