I heard that larger ants don't really go near the black lights, and these ants are the ones I'm aiming for. If they don't get attracted to black light, do you guys have any ideas on how I could catch them?

Check well lit pools in the evening. I saw tons of Queens there when I was in Florida, both at the lights and in the pool.

You can catch a whole colony easily if you check small rotten logs or branches that you can easily break apart and search through.
