Sorry, but it looks like it's a major worker of a Camponotus sp. . Don't worry Camponotus major workers and queens are easy to confuse

I thought so, I just grabbed the largest one in the scattering. She seemed to be the only one major tho. I am thinking sanseabeanus now at anyrate.

A lot of these Camponotus in the Southwest are hard to tell apart without a microscope.
