Hey guys I have a small colony of crematogaster sp obtained in southern California. Do they like moist, dry or in between nests?

The Crematogaster cerasi I have like it humid, but not wet.  But these originate in Canada, so yours may be different.

Mine also like additional heat.

Do they nest in dead wood? If yes then you can probably keep their nest dry (but make sure to provide them an external source of water)
