Yes, you found a fire ant queen. Solenopsis invicta. Keep her warm, wet, and dark, and you'll have baby ants in 5-6 weeks.
Yeah, it definitely looks like S. invicta, but still you should post more information about any queens you want ID'd, particularily location, because in completely different parts of the world, it can be an entirely different world of ants, many that look very similar to the ones here in the States.

Just make sure she has some water to drink from like some wet cotton.
